Kateryna Bortsova take part in Faberllull residency (Olot, Spain)
Faberllull is a network of residences of arts, sciences and humanities located in the cites of Olot (Catalonia) managed by the Institut Ramon Llull in collaboration with Olot's town council.
While participating in residence Kateryna worked on her project “Self-propulsion”, on which she have been working since 2016. The concept of the project refers to the problems arising in connection with the closing of borders due to the pandemic, to search the man's place in the global world, which suddenly narrowed to within the same country or even the region. I want to draw the viewer's attention to a paradox – closing, limitation offline and online boundless openness and links clearly manifested during a pandemic. Many places of the World, felt this situation in itself. The problem of the pandemic was joined by the unresolved problem of the migration problem, which has become aggravated throughout the World.
While staying at the Faberllull residence, she had the opportunity to completely immerse herself in work on her project, in addition to meeting new interesting people and exchange creative experience, which helped the further development of her work.
